StationQR.com (“StationQR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a directory website listing station QR codes used with UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) and RailOne for unreserved train ticket booking at Indian Railway stations. Our website address is: https://stationqr.com.
StationQR.com does not provide any ticket booking, payment, or reservation service. We simply display publicly available station QR codes and station information so that passengers can find the correct QR code for their station more easily, before completing their booking directly on the official UTS or RailOne app.
No account or sign-up is required to use this website. You can browse the entire station directory, view QR codes, and use the site fully without registering, logging in, or creating a profile of any kind.
We do not collect personal data from visitors browsing the site. There are no user accounts, no booking forms, and no payment fields on StationQR.com, so no name, ticket detail, travel information, or payment data is ever collected, stored, or processed by us through normal use of the directory. The sections below explain the limited, WordPress-standard situations in which some technical data may still be generated (for example, if you ever leave a comment), so this policy is complete and transparent even though these features may not be actively used on the site.
1. Comments
If commenting is enabled anywhere on the site and you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. If your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible to the public alongside your comment.
2. Media
If any images are uploaded to the website (including user-submitted station or QR code images), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, as visitors to the website could download and extract that location data.
3. Cookies
If comments are left on the site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in a cookie, purely for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter these details for a future comment. These cookies last for one year.
If the site’s login page is ever visited (e.g., by site administrators), a temporary cookie is set to check whether the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.
When an administrator logs in, additional cookies may be set to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login cookies to two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
Editing or publishing an article may set an additional cookie containing only the post ID of the edited article, with no personal data, expiring after 1 day.
As a general visitor browsing the directory (viewing stations or QR codes), you will not be asked to log in and will not encounter account-related cookies. We may still use basic analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site traffic and improve the directory; you can control or block these through your browser settings.
4. Embedded Content from Other Websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (for example, maps, images, or QR code images sourced externally). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited that other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you are logged in to an account on that website.
5. Who We Share Data With
Since StationQR.com does not collect bookings, payments, or account details, there is generally no personal data to share. The limited exceptions are:
- If any password reset function is ever used by site administrators, the IP address is included in the reset email.
- Standard technical/server logs may be visible to our hosting provider as part of normal website operation.
- If required by law, regulation, or a valid governmental request.
We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
6. How Long We Retain Data
If a comment is left, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.
Since the website does not currently offer visitor registration, there is no ongoing user profile data to retain for regular visitors. Basic server/analytics logs are kept only as long as necessary for security and performance purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
7. What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have left a comment on this site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you (i.e., your comment data), and you can request that we erase it. This does not include data we are legally required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Since browsing the directory does not require an account or personal data submission, most visitors will have no personal data held by us at all.
8. Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments, if enabled, may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
9. Third-Party Apps: UTS, RailOne, and Railway Systems
StationQR.com displays QR codes and links that direct you to third-party platforms, including the official UTS app, RailOne, and Indian Railways/IRCTC systems, which we do not own, operate, or control. Any information you provide on those platforms (including any booking or payment details) is governed entirely by their own privacy policies, not this one. We never see, collect, or store any information you enter on those third-party apps.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect any limited data described above. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children’s Privacy
StationQR.com is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us (for example, via a comment), please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the website or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
